Jeffrey R. Owen

Executive Director

Jeffrey is a founding member and former President of the Corporation. He earned his Law Degree from the Ohio State University School of Law in Columbus, Ohio after earning degrees in Political Science and English from Allegheny College in Meadville, PA. He has been practicing law for 33 years and has been the Managing Partner of the Cooper Owen & Renner Law Firm for the last 18 years. Jeff has served in leadership and board capacities for numerous companies and Christian ministries such as President of SeeJesus.net, a Member of the Standing Judicial Committee for the Presbyterian Church in America, and a Session Member of both Beulah Presbyterian Church and New Covenant Presbyterian Church. He currently serves as the Co-Chair of the Young Life Ministry’s Gateway/Franklin Regional Committee, and as a board member with Uniquely the Same. He and his wife, Dawn, have three daughters and five grandchildren. They currently reside in Pittsburgh.

Dawn R. Owen

Treasurer and Director

Dawn is a founding member of PitCare and serves on the Development Committee. She provides very valuable organizational and financial management expertise to our Organization. Dawn earned an Associate’s Degree in Business Sciences at Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa and a Paralegal Certificate in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She began her career as a paralegal in the early 1990's and quickly became and remains the Office Administrator, Business Manager and Senior Paralegal for the law firm of Cooper Owen & Renner, P.C. Dawn has also served as Treasurer of New Covenant Presbyterian Church and the Development Director and Board Member for Trinity Christian School. Dawn and her husband Jeff have three daughters and four grandchildren. They currently reside in Pitcairn.

Heather Luimes

Director of Operations

Heather comes to us from Ontario, Canada. Heather oversees the daily operations of the PitCare organization. She is passionate about building community relationships and meeting the specific needs of Pitcairn. Heather was previously employed as a Store Manager at Home Depot, and brings with her 9 years of leadership and management experience in a variety of roles. She was an active member of Talbot Street Church, serving as a member of the Worship Committee and was involved in leading worship. For eight years Heather has also participated as a member of the planning and host teams for “Serve” sites through Youth Unlimited. Heather earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art at Calvin College as well as a Degree in Interior Design at Sheridan College. Heather currently resides in Pitcairn.

Stephen Uber

Secretary and Director

Stephen earned an Associate’s Degree in Administration from Penn State, a Bachelor’s Degree in Christian Ministry from Crown College and a Master’s Degree in Christian Ministry & Leadership from Liberty University. Stephen is the Vice President and Area Director of S&T Bank. He was ordained in 2010 and became an Associate Pastor in charge of Youth at Crossroads Vineyard Church until 2013 when he left to help church plant Harvest Bible Chapel in Monroeville. Stephen and his wife Cory have five children.

Jarrett Highsmith

FOCUS Beyond the Field Coordinator & Coach

Jarrett is a 2004 graduate of Peabody High School. During his career at Peabody, Jarrett earned All-City honors his Junior and Senior years, and played in the Pennsylvania East-West All Star game in 2004. He was also named a Tribune Review Top Ten Defensive Lineman in Western Pa, a list that includes WPIAL Hall of Fame inductee A.Q. Shipley. Jarrett continued to play football at Seton Hill University in Greensburg Pa. There, Jarrett earned an All-Conference Honorable Mention award, and was named team Defensive MVP during the 2006 season. Jarrett’s football career was ended by a knee injury in the 2007 season.

Brian Zeisloft

Director

Brian earned his Bachelors Degree in Marketing from Penn State University and his Master of Divinity from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. He spent five years as the executive director of The Open Door Youth Outreach in the West End of Pittsburgh, two years as the coordinator of the Bonner Scholars program at Waynesburg University, and eleven years at the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank working directly with partner agencies to help enhance their ability to serve their communities. Brian has also volunteered in numerous ways with youth and food assistance ministries over the past 20 years. He has lived in Monroeville for the past eleven years with his wife and two children.

Curtis White

Director

Curtis was born in Braddock, Pennsylvania, Curtis is a graduate of Braddock High School and has a certification in Counseling. He is currently employed as a Maintenance Engineer for over 40 years at Bechtel Bettis – now Fluor Marine Corporation.

Curtis is also an Associate Pastor at The Lord’s Church of Pittsburgh. He is a 35+ year Firefighter and has been ministering in the maximum-security ward and other diverse areas at the Allegheny County Jail for over 25 years. Curtis’ passion is for men and women to be transformed through the Word of God to reach their God-given destiny.

Curtis is married to the love of his life – Niecy. He has a daughter (Danielle) and two grandsons (David and Lorenzo). His favorite scripture is Jeremiah 32:27 which reads – “I am the God of all flesh – is there anything too hard for me?”

Dan Casey

Meals on Wheels Program Coordinator

Dan has worked in the food service industry for over 30 years. He has been a cook/chef at various restaurants and catering companies in the greater Pittsburgh area and also was owner/operator of his own restaurant. He joined the Meals on Wheels team as their manager in November 2017. With his experience, he brings a professional structure and consistency to the meals on wheels program.

Victoria Matthews

Library & Community Center Coordinator

Victoria Matthews was born and raised in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia. She attended Clarion University majoring in Library Sciences with a minor in Social Work before transferring to Liberty University to major in Family and Child Development with a minor in Psychology and Woman’s Leadership. During her studies Victoria had a focus on building community an participating in political activities that she helped organize. She hosted and helped develop a mentoring/discipleship program and coordinated weekly youth group function, small groups and youth related events at her church, including leading worship. Victoria continues to focus on building community through building relationships.
